SAA Direct
The Executive is very concerned at the dwindling membership and many meetings have taken place to discuss how we can improve this. The Executive considers that there are a large number of potential members out there who either do not want to be a member of a formal SAA Club or may require to relocate or move around the country (whether for job or other reasons) and would like the flexibility of having individual membership of the SAA. It was therefore felt that it is now time to create a new membership category for individual members – this being known as “Direct Membership”. I have enclosed further details outlining the guidelines and benefits of Direct Membership for consideration by your members. This proposal will be voted on at the AGM. A proxy vote is also enclosed for your use if you are unable to attend the AGM
The Executive sees this as a positive step forward, not only in permitting individual divers to become SAA members, but also as a means if increasing membership and raising the profile of the SAA
I ask that you discuss this matter with your club before you vote for or against the propsal. For those who cannot attend the SAA AGM a proxy form has been sent to your club secretary
