NOMINATION FOR SAA NATIONAL DIVING OFFICER (25th Feb 2009)

Due to increased work responsibilities and health issues, it was with regret that the SAA accepted the resignation from the SAA National Diving Officer,Steve Wallis wef 3rd February 2009. Following on from this resignation the National Executive held an emergency meeting to discuss co-opting a member to take on the position of National Diving Officer until elections could take place. Three suitably qualified members had expressed their wish to help out in this position, after long discussions it was agreed to ask Steve Love to take up this position.

I have since spoken to Steve and he has agreed to take on the co-opted position until a new National Diving Officer has been confirmed.

Many of you will know Steve as he has worked tirelessly for the SAA over many years holding the positions of O2 co-ordinator and the Yorkshire & Humberside regional rep. I would like to thank Steve for agreeing to this position and also to the other two candidates who expressed their wish to help.

Nomination forms have been sent to those candidates who are qualified to apply for the position of National Diving Offier (Dive Master & National Instructor). Completed nomination forms must be returned to head office by Friday 20th March 2009. If more than one candidate applies for the position then a ballot will be held.
