Hull University are conducting a field trip to Lake Malawi in Malawi, Africa for 3 weeks starting 24 July 2009. They need an Instructor qualified to at least CMAS 2*, capable of working to UK HSE Scientific Diver rules and fully insured. At the very least flights and accommodation will be paid. Lake Malawi is described as clear, warm and 10m deep max, with apparently no particular hazards (live or otherwise). It is planned for 2 divers to conduct the underwater research, but one diver is PADI OWD at this time, and the other is CMAS 2* diver. So whilst the CMAS 2* can supervise the PADI OWD (whilst not training), in order for them to be "at work" the OWD needs an Instructor to train them underwater. If any qualified member is interested please contact D.Joyce@hull.ac.uk. Any interested member should satisfy themselves as to the arrangements in place and their own personal responsibility. This is not in any way organised by, or under the control of the SAA and is advertised solely as a favour to Hull University. Please note that it is the sole responsibility of the Instructor to organise their own professional diving insurance.
