NORTH WEST REGIONAL REP VACANCY

Due to the resignation of Danny Connelly, NWest Regional Representative, there now is a vacancy for this position.
Job description is as follows:
DUTIES
1. The Regional Representative shall have overall responsibility for all matters specific to the region, as defined by the National Council.
2. To act as a two-way communication link between the National Council and the member clubs within the region on a regular basis.
3. To promote the Sub-Aqua Association in all its aspects.
4. To be available for consultation and to assist all SAA clubs within the region with regard to :-
Legal enquiries
Medical enquiries
Insurance enquiries
Training and qualification courses
Local council and sports grants
5. To liaise and co-operate with all other similar organisations and official bodies on a regional basis.
6. To encourage member clubs to adhere to the minimum standard for which the SAA recommends regarding training standards, diving procedure and other conditions of the SAA insurance policy.
7. To take enquiries from the public for joining a club within the region.
8. To visit, with a National or Regional Instructor [only if not personally qualified] who has a full working knowledge of SAA courses, all new clubs joining the SAA. Check the suitability and qualifications of the club Diving Officer and arrange all necessary training and or crossovers to ensure the Diving Officer holds the appropriate qualification.
9. To visit other clubs, member of non-member, as necessary to maintain and promote awareness of the Association.
10. To be aware of incidents occurring within the region and notifying the NDO and the executive as soon as practicable.
11. To liaise with the office manager and to forward fees or other monies due to the SAA nationally.
DELEGATION
Any delegation of these responsibilities must only be temporary and the person such responsibility is delegated to must be made aware of the duties and responsibilities of the post. Such delegation should only occur in circumstances of illness or incapacity.
The neighbouring regional representative should be informed of this and should act as an advisor and liaison to the temporary post holder to ensure compliance.
REGIONAL COMMITTEE
The Regional Representative may establish a Regional Committee to run regional affairs. Where such a committee is formally constituted the constitution must be acceptable to the majority of clubs in the region. It must also be acceptable to the national council. It shall not in any way contradict or conflict with the Sub-Aqua Association National Constitution. A copy of the regional constitution must be registered with the National Secretary. The Regional Representative will be a member of the Regional Committee.
REGIONAL COACH
The Regional Representative may recommend a suitable person for appointment by the National Diving Officer as Regional Coach.
The NDO will make such an appointment providing: -
There is no existing post holder
The person is suitably qualified
Matters of training, qualification and examination may be delegated to the coach within the region.
REGIONAL CO-ORDINATOR
The Regional Representative may appoint a Regional Co-ordinator to advise the region on certain areas within their appointed area of expertise. Their expenses will be covered by regional funds, and they will report to the Regional Representative or Committee where appropriate.
