More about the benefits of being a member of an SAA club
CMAS (Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques) is the World Underwater Federation, which is the international umbrella organisation for diver training. The Sub-Aqua Association has been a member federation of CMAS since 1996 and has worked closely to develop a strong relationship with a member on the Technical Committee. The SAA was one of the founding members of CMAS Europe. This partnership also brought about the SAA Chairing the British Standards Institute mirror group, which developed the EN Standards for recreational diving in tourism, which have been developed into the ISO standards.
SAA Members can use the CMAS certification cards to identify the qualification level they have achieved in the UK in any overseas country. The SAA is the only diver-training organisation that can award CMAS certifications in the UK.
